Gentle or Strong . . .
"My animal subjects range from the smallest birds to the fiercest wolves. Whether gentle or strong,
prey or predator, they release an energy in me as I bring my art to life using watercolors or acrylics.

Living in the Wild . . .
'Quail Spin'
With a background in art and biology, and years of living in wild country where I assisted a wildlife research biologist, I learned about endangered birds, spent a winter living with 3 moose in my backyard, and daily watched a Sandhill Crane playing with my three little girls.

ABSTRACTS ??
YES!
It was even a surprise to me.
After a few months of being
house bound because of
Covid19, I needed a change and 'pick-me-up'. The ease and fun of painting abstracts was just the thing, no plan
in mind, just paint and have fun--it was very freeing.

. I start with charcoal studies,
creating many drawings of my subject as I slowly work up to an exciting composition. I
then go on to painting using
the glowing colors of pastels,
watercolors, or other media.
My final concerns are to heighten the drama of lights and darks, and to add a
touch of accents to give
sparkle and life to my creation.
